4th Report – Point by point: The Status of Peace Agreement implementation in Colombia. Point 5: Agreement Regarding the Victims of Conflict

Video from the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, corresponding to the fourth comprehensive report on the status of the implementation of the Final Agreement in Colombia entitled “Three years after the signing of the Final Agreement in Colombia: Moving towards a territorial transformation. December 2018 to November 2019″. In this video, “Point by point: The Status of Peace Agreement implementation in Colombia. Point 5: Agreement regarding the victims of the conflict. The Agreement includes the guarantee of the rights for victims of the conflict as a main theme. Towards that end, in point 5, the Comprehensive System for Truth, Justice, Reparation, and Non-Recurrence was created, made up by three fundamental entities: The Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP); The Truth, Coexistence, and Non-Recurrence Commission (CEV); and the Unit for the Search for Persons Deemed as Missing in the Context of and Due to the Armed Conflict (UBPD). This point also contains an obligation to strengthen the comprehensive reparations policy, headed by the Unit for the Assistance and Comprehensive Reparation of Victims. They present how is the implementation of point 5 progressing, its challenges and opportunities.
