Son of Ricardo Villa Salcedo, renowned criminal lawyer, human rights defender, activist for the democratic left, journalist, social activist, student leader, political leader of the Liberal Party and then of the M-19 Democratic Alliance. He was a Santa Marta councilman, a Magdalena departmental representative, and, in his last years, a Colombian senator. He was killed by paramilitaries on December 23, 1992. His son was a member of the fifth delegation of armed conflict victims and met with the national government and FARC-EP delegations on December 16, 2014.
