FARC-EP journey to the Transitional Local Zones for Normalization

As part of combatants’ process to lay down arms and transition to civilian life, FARC-EP members traveled from different parts of the country to the pre-grouping points, sites where the Transitional Local Zones for Normalization (ZVTNs, in Spanish) were later built. 23 ZVTNs were established. In addition to completing the laying down of arms, their aim was to facilitate the monitoring and verification process. Members of State security forces guaranteed the security of these areas.
