Raúl Castro Ruíz

He studied public administration at the University of Havana. He was part of the Cuban revolution, along with his brother Fidel Castro, in which they fought and defeated the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship. He led the Cuban Armed Forces (1959–2008). In 2008, he was elected president of the Council of State, president of the Council of Ministers, and commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Armed Forces until 2018. He participated as a Guarantor country representative in the peace process’s negotiation phase.
