Entity of an extrajudicial and humanitarian nature, responsible for leading, coordinating, and contributing to humanitarian actions to search for people deemed as missing due to and in the context of the armed conflict in Colombia before December 1, 2016. The Search Unit has a 20-year mandate, beginning in 2018 when it started its work (Decree 589 of 2017).
